Academy Award® nominated Seymour Cassel’s distinguished career as an
actor is evident in the wealth of film, theatre and television credits he has
garnered. As a boy, he traveled with a troupe of burlesque performers and later
appeared in summer stock. He studied acting at the American Theatre Wing and
Actor’s Studio and appeared in Broadway productions of The World
of Suzy Wong and The Disenchanted. After studying in an acting workshop taught by the
late John Cassavetes, Mr. Cassel served as associate producer on Cassavetes’ directorial
debut, Shadows, and then acted under Cassavetes’ direction in Too
Late Blues and in almost all of his films, notably starring as Moskowitz opposite
Gena Rowlands, in Minnie and Moskowitz.
