Born and raised in the small town of Jackson, Tennessee, Smithy attended Union University and graduated with two degrees in Advertising and Marketing. He started his career at Davidson & Chandler Advertising Agency, but it wasn’t long before Smithy left home in search of bigger and better things.

His journey brought him to Orlando, Florida where he landed a position with Yellow Shoes, the internal ad agency for the Walt Disney World® Resort. After several years, Smithy decided to leave the corporate world behind and pursue his dreams in film. He got his big chance on Stars North’s first short film project, The Paper Route, an opportunity which led him to full time work in production. His “anything is possible” attitude has moved him to the top of the producing field. He has built a resume that includes an impressive list of projects ranging from commercials and music videos to independent films and nationally-televised prime time events, not to mention a long list of celebrity talent.

Smithy’s strong work ethic has earned him a reputation for getting the job done. He’s the definition of a “Johnny-on-the-spot” and if you can dream it, he can make it happen!
